A period country property in Kent required significant alterations to modernise the layout and enhance functionality, while preserving its traditional character. Ager Build was commissioned to undertake extensive internal works alongside major landscaping improvements, resulting in a home and grounds ready for contemporary family living.
Internally, the house was reconfigured with a series of structural alterations. An original porch opening was converted into a new downstairs WC, while the former WC was re-purposed as a storage cupboard. The property benefited from new flooring throughout, as well as doorway alterations to improve flow. A large airing cupboard was removed to create vaulted ceilings with electric Velux windows, and new loft access was built and finished.
Bathroom works included a full strip-out and complete renovation of one bathroom, and structural preparation with plastering in two additional bathrooms. Bespoke works were also carried out in the bedrooms, including the installation of a suspended ceiling. Additional joinery and framing supported the kitchen and utility room fit-out. Decorative shutters were removed from the windows and carefully restored back to their original condition.
Externally, major landscaping was completed. This included the creation of a new field access, tiling to the front porch, and the construction of a large rear patio with integrated steps.
The result is a property significantly upgraded inside and out, retaining its period charm while offering modern functionality.
